My 4 year old daughter came home from her play group with a seed planted in a tiny pot. I didn’t hold much hope for it to be honest but I did agree that we would water it and look after it so it could grow.
Within two weeks it was about 30 cms. I kid you not!! It also grew two really big leaves. It was clearly on some sort of mission, set out to be the best and get ahead of the rest. The pot it was in was really small and I kept looking at it with amazement wondering where it had got all its goodness from.
How did that small pot grow that amazing tall seedling?
I have been training slash supervising slash nurturing slash feeding slash (you get the picture) trainee Cousnellors for a few years now. And I love it. From my experience every trainee at some point feels dissatisfaction in their tiny pot. You know where I am going with this now don’t you?
I was the same, I looked back at my pot for a while and felt ashamed as it wasn’t as bright and shiny as other pots so maybe I wasn’t as strong or as tall or as validated.
What I have discovered over the years is that all the pots are small. But you get to decide how tall you grow. We have created CPD for Students out of respect for your tiny pots. They cannot be a big pot and they cannot give you everything.
If you feel under resourced and think you don’t know enough I have two things to say to you:
- Get yourself resourced
- You’ll always think you don’t know enough!
CPD for students are designed with you in mind. We want to be a part of your journey and resource you so you can stand tall above the rest. So how tall are you going to grow?
My daughters seedling is now planted outside in the big world and we hope to see it’s fruit in the next few months. A presume a bean of some variety but I don’t know and I don’t care. It will be wonderful whatever it is.
Come grow with us.
I look forward to meeting you soon.
